He has received his BS in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business and his MBA from Stephen M. Ross School of Business Administration at the University of Michigan. Charles Phoenix is a lawyer who has had many notable wins. He was the Lead Counsel in a unanimous ruling in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit 2009 case involving complex state exemption and federal tax, employee benefit and bankruptcy issues (Re Sarah Baker, 590 F.3d 1261, 2009 WL 4912122 (C.A.11 (Fla.)). He was also recently appointed to the steering committee in the 21st Century Oncology Class Action in November 2016. Life as a Coach
When Charles Phoenix is not practicing law or spending time with his family, he can probably be found on the diamond. Charles Phoenix is the founder of the Sanibel Babe Ruth League where he currently serves as President and a coach. He is a certified manager, and he has coached and managed 28 travel, All-Star, and recreational baseball teams from 2010 – present (Little League, Cal Ripken League & independent). He was also the third Commissioner of the 40-year old Sanibel Youth Baseball and Softball Programs from 2011-2015. Charles Phoenix loves the game and enjoys teaching youth fundamentals of the game, as well as life lessons learned on the diamond.
